For growing in this soil David The Good is the best resource. For growing traditional garden plants and how to make the work then Home Grown Florida is a great resource, for creating an ecological balance in your garden then Wild Floridian is the best channel to follow. My first year in Florida I have a successful Garden because of these three channels

Congratulations! You have a book!!! And in time to read it in the comfort of A/C before we go work the fall garden. This is a fun and energized summary of what makes Florida .... Florida. I really miss those "set your clock by" daily storms; you must still get them because you are closer to the Gulf, here in Tampa, they have been very irregular, and this summer, not sufficient. But hey, the tropicals love growing in the sauna that is Central Florida, and compost is just melting away. Thanks for a fun break, I enjoy you so much!

Ok you are making me do this transition into native plants and gardening. I’ve been binge watching all your videos for like two weeks and I love all the information you provide. Thank you. I’m in Miami so wish me luck I will be showing you the updates. Oh by the way I ve learn by you that most of my plants currently are invasive and not Florida friendly….. Yayy for me!! I’ll have to do some work first to get rid of the plants.

Florida native here! Reading your book after planting my first pollinator garden between my veggie beds yesterday ☺️ I grew up on a thoroughbred farm in Williston (I know you know where this is bc Go Gators) before moving to Crystal River right before high school, but live in Tampa currently. Our farm had an abundance of well established fruit trees, including the biggest mulberry tree you will probably ever see in your life, no exaggeration! We used to get in the bucket of a front end loader to pick berries, which were aprox 2 inches long and sweeter than any other mulberry I’ve ever tasted. My grandfather used to grow different varieties of cantaloupe and other fruits/veggies give to UF to help with research towards better heat tolerant crops. Unfortunately he passed many years ago and is unable to share his knowledge with me. I’ve only personally taken up gardening in the last year or so and oh how I wish he was still around so I could pick his brain! But I wanted to say thank you for sharing all of your knowledge! The only thing that could be better is having you narrate the book for us!

Im a Native Floridian. This is a great breakdown of Florida. I will add that you do have to pay attention to coastal areas and inland areas. Pine flats as opposed to Oaks. Wetlands to rolling hills.
We also sometimes have unexpected heat and cold then cold then heat that can reek havoc on garden. Have to be ready to cover or shade depending. This last year I had a lot of bolting of broccoli and cabbage. I planted too early.
Love Florida hot wet climate and tropical species. Timing is a 😂 As soon as you think you got it down, think again.
Thanks for video. Im hoping to get a channel going soon. Looks like fun sharing ideas.😊

I am still waiting to see and experience the rain you and others have been talking about! We live in central Florida and we barely got any rain this summer. We have to water the garden morning and evening because Of this excessive heat 😅

I used to be able to set my watch by the rain but not anymore. We had three days of rain in June, we had three days of rain in July and one so far in August and this is our rainy season. I’m really getting frustrated in zone 10a Southwest Florida!
