I’m a Chevy guy with a big block Chevelle in the garage but feel they didn’t massage the 460 like they did the 454. The Ford had more they could’ve gotten out of it.

I like how the Ford's "high performance build" is heads, intake and a cam while the Chevy's "high performance build" is a complete top to bottom build from a bare block with aftermarket parts.

LMAO, whenever I watch Joe install a cam, I anticipate the cam bearings being smashed to bits and he never disappoints. EDIT: Just to clarify, I know it's all for camera and I got nothing but respect for the guy. RIP Joe Elmore.

I’m a Mopar guy but I feel the 454 got a little more love than the 460.

I'm not a Ford or a Chevy guy, but I can tell which way these guys are biased. One side got a lot more attention than the other.

Watching the guy hamfist jam that cam into the bearings made me wince.

Is there anything more painful than watching these guys bang a cam around as they put it into the block?

Your choice in cylinder heads automatically favored the Chevrolet

Come on you guys!!! You gave the Chevy 454 much more love with those parts! We know where your loyalty ls.

PowerNation, we'll take this 200, 000 mile 1.9 out of a 88 escort and put it against a blown 454 to see who’s the king on the Dyno.

I was gonna mention all the extra parts and upgraded parts that the 460 didn’t get but I see the comments already cover that! As long as it’s American I’m cool with either but make it fair, the ford should have gotten everything the Chevy did

The thing I can immediately see is that the Chevy has a cylinder head advantage. They didn't mention camshaft profiles, so I don't know about that. This is anything but an apples to apples comparison. John Kasse did a comparison build and the Ford came out well ahead of the Chevy.

Just once I would like a 100% even build...

The only thing that's remotely close as far as an even build with these engines, is the fact they used that same Holley 1000cfm.

Lmao, All things considered that 460 whipped that 454s ass.

I'd take the Ford over the Chevy based on that dyno curve. Low end HP and torque are way better than the Chevy

21 more hp with bigger heads, more aggressive cam, better pistons and rods, and a balanced rotating assembly.
Chevy needs all that to make 21 more hp.
why can't you guys do everything the same.
o yeah and Chevy needs a new crank to hold more hp

The 454 definitely got some extra love over the 460. The Ford carried more torque, even with the smaller heads.
