How to Import Illustrator File To After Effects Project

If we have created a vector image in Adobe Illustrator, and want it to be animated in After Effects, we only need to import it.

But what if I make edits in Adobe Illustrator, for example, change the color and save, will these edits be applied to Adobe After Effects if both of these applications are on different computers? Thank you.
