You need to be a Servant leader in Scrum . Which is all about making the team self-reliant, so they can cope with the pressures of the role.
As a servant leader the Scrum Master creates a high performing team, helps them become collaborative and high performing in order to achieve goals and meet the requirements of the customer.

Being a domain expert is commendable, and I’ve pursued that path over the years. However, sadly, 99% of companies aren’t looking for Scrum even they say so. They prefer following their own rules with a Scrum Master in place. I genuinely appreciate your advice and respect your expertise, but we need someone who understands and can address the real challenges we, SMs in field not in fairytale, face. Steering a company towards Scrum isn’t an option when they aren’t open to it from the outset. I tried, and I was let go because of it.

Based on this all new scrum masters need to have transitioned from a developer roll… I know lots of scrum masters who are not “masters” of the project, that’s something you learn on the job.

What do you mean when you say " be a domain expert"? Outline what that looks like please.

Idk Scrum masters are not knowledgeable in the field they are working in just understanding how to run stand-ups, retros, refinements ect. But are kind of redundant after you understand the work flow. If anything at a certain point they just slow everyone else down

Scrum masters are a hilarious job role to me. They don’t produce anything. If you have to explain to people what your job is, you don’t have a job of value.
