You guys do what everyone should; using every part of the animal! That's 'honouring' it and truly appreciating what you have! If I wasn't living in an urban area, I wouldnt be a vegetarian and would do the same.

As a soapmaker I recommend soaking the blender attachment but as other commenters said let the soap harden for a day or two before scraping off any scrap and washing as usual! You can even save up scraped-off scraps to make hot process soap if desired! I think it's super cool that you try to be so sustainable in your practices :D

Wipe the soap of the utensils right away and let the rest solidify until the next day. Then it will be safer to handle as it has become soap :)

Professional soap maker here. Just wipe out all that soap batter with some microfiber towels. Then let them sit for about a week. Then just wash them with no detergent. (they after all already have soap on them).

This trick has saved my hundreds of hours due to doing batch after batch

I clean my containers by letting the soap saponify overnight. Then use water and a sponge and rinse clean. You can also add them to the dishwasher without adding soap to the dispenser. Everything should come sparkling clean. I rinse my stick blender right after use, then put in a bowl of clean water and whiz it to get off any particles. Rinse again and your done. I love the deer tallow idea. I will try it after I get my next deer. Great idea!

My Mom saved the soap bar ends. Grated them, added water, and put it in pump bottles, for liquid soap. This was in the 60s. She said grandma had been doing this in her childhood.

I make deer tallow soap also, it makes a great soap. That’s the only soap I use now at home

The lil mini spatulas are awesome to scrap every bit of soap batter into that mold…. Nothing can go to waste in my soap studio😅

An important thing when you make soap yourself: Lye is a lot more irritating to the skin than oil and fat. So when you make your own soap, just round the number down for lye and up for your oil/fat and you will end up with a soap that is gentler to your skin.

Lol cleaning soap mess is always fun, for cold process it's a lot easier in my opinion, I wait till it's semi solid and then get all my cleaner towels out and use them to clean the soap while also cleaning my towels

I use lard, beat it until it's fluffy and let the utensils set overnight. Next day it's set up enough to be soap enough to wash them with. AND if you beat it until it's fluffy enough you have to spoon it in the molds, it floats ❤

Let your dishes sit overnight. Then the hardened soap will help to clean them. I also add a touch of dawn. It’s much easier than trying to get them clean while the batter is still wet and greasy.

Always use a spatula in your soap You get every drop and makes cleaning much easier

You just use water to clean the soap off. You can stick the stick blender in a bowl of water and then turn on the blender, and then it will clean itself.

Run a basin with hot water while you are making the soap. Place everything into the basin as you finish using them. Take an old bar of tallow soap from a previous batch and use that to wash your utensils. Finally take the blender, fill a jar with boiling water and switch on the blender ( a few swirls will clean the blender.) I have never needed to wait a day to clean the utensils
