By the way, you can get really small black lights now that will fit in your shirt pocket that work as well as that big D-cell unit you have. Also FYI go for the longer wavelength blacklights (405 nm vs 395 nm), there is a difference - - happy hunting!

I have been stung by a bark scorpion 7 times but technically 3 cause one time lol accidentally crouched down on it and kinda smushed it when it was in our carpet and it stung me 5 times in the shape I’m not kidding of a smile 2 eyes 3 dots for a mouth. It is a horrible experience and if you are elergec you can die but I am not so basically I just had to wait out the 15 hours of pain numbing tics and pringles and apmost electric shock feeling In my muscles the other two times it was just one sting and to be honest those times were worse because it was just n my hand and my entire hand and then after time down to just the injection sight were completely numb and then tingly like after your foot or something falls asleep and then you move it. All I can say is the bark scorpion is crazy but luckily not life threatening if you are not allergic but also just be careful because everyone’s body’s react differently 😀

What i find freaky about scorpions is that their entire bone structure is outside their body and that makes them one of the most special creatures on earth. Obviously any child knows that a scorpion must be like a nightmare and it's better to leave the scorpion alone than trying to interact with the scorpion.

While I mostly agree, I can certify that bark scorpions in the less-urbanized parts of the Sonoran Desert choose violence and are not trying to avoid you. They don't look at you as prey but your size doesn't intimidate a pissed-off scorpion. They are also way more potent than any honey bee sting, but if you're not allergic you should be fine within 24 hours.
Like brown recluses they like to settle in your shoes to feast on the electrolytes and moisture you leave there but they are not reasonable about the arrangement and that's why you beat your shoes/boots/slippers out before you put them on or you end up with a paralyzed foot for a day or two
