Back for another season of fly tying. I live in SW Colorado. Once the snow starts, the fly tying stuff come out for the winter and I have until early May to tie as much as I can. Got a few inches Friday.
this looks like a good simple one to start with for the season.

With that longer hook & down wing, it might be taken as a large caddis or stonefly (think Stimulator). I’ll bet it works well being pulled underwater at the end of a drift. You have to like any fly recommended by Joe Brooks.

I always like fishing Trude style flies after they sink you just fish them like a streamer.
