I remember getting something like this at a Five Below. Much better construction and materials though. Instead of the priming pull stick hole thing, the entire top slid back to prime, and it could fire 2 darts at once.

Ya know a slimer design would be great for a quick backup blaster if you run out of darts in your main blaster and someone gets close

With some practice, these would be a fun back up. Swap out the lever for some kind of stringed ring pull, so you can have it equipped while using a regular blaster.
