If all you need is a sum, you don't need to use "Simplified field notations"; you can use "Value is the [sum]" just above it. In that case, it does not even matter that the name values contain spaces, since you just get a list of checkboxes for the fields in the document and you simply check the checkboxes for the fields you want to get summed.

Also, it is now perfectly fine to have spaces before and after the plus signs when you use the "Simplified field notations".

Thanks for the help. Even though its not the EXACT thing I needed I used this as a stepping stone.

creating a fillable pdf for my friends' DnD character sheet and this was beyond helpful for me to understand the formula area.

I have made formula's in excel but that has been lost to the void, this has been MUCH easier

Again, MASSIVE thank you for this

Hey Carol Bee, great video. I am using Acrobat Pro DC and used your exact instructions to clean up a form that was sent to me. The only problem is the default value will not show. I would like the boxes to display as $0.00. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Carol for the wonderful video. Is there any way to convert numbers to words? For example: 5, 000, 000.00 = Five Million.

If I want to apply a condition to the calculation do I need to change to the custom calculation script or stay in the simplified version?
