The Problem With Intel’s New 11th Gen Gaming Laptop CPUs

Intel just announced three new 11th gen Tiger Lake H processors for ultraportable gaming laptops, known as H35. These CPUs are the i5-11300H, i7-11370H, and i7-11375H, however I think they could be a little misleading.

Intel is like a Pokemon that only has "confuse ray" for an attack.

They really should have just used a different letter, or used HS like AMD did with their 35 watt G14 Zephyrus chip

What worries me is that they're looking to make 2.000$ laptops mainstream. Regardless, i'm in the search for a new laptop this February and there is absolutely no chance i'm falling below 8 cores in 2021. Team red looks nice this year

Intel was calling DUAL CORES in laptops fucking "i7"s until the goddamn 7000 series. >.>

"Basically to summerize, it feels like Intel is slapping an H on lower powered quadcore processors and using the i7 branding to sell gaming laptops in lieu of proper 11th gen H series parts.

Maybe that's too harsh."

Intel marketing: “They are on to us!”

Who would think that Intell will try to sell us same processors again... for the third time.

I'm hoping for some cheaper 14inch gaming laptops on par with a 1660Ti, so I can ditch my Thinkpad and just have one machine.

Just combine the letters intel. It's not that hard to slap an "HU" branding. High performance chips for ultraportable gaming laptops.

Nobody ever talks about 2 cores anymore😅

Btw, they used the Intel Compiler in the SPECRATE 2017 to show off that their cpus are 30% faster than last gen amd cpus. So they're using a compiler made to run better on their cpus to show off results. What a shame intel....

No, it's a big deal. For a short time, it seemed that Intel would i3-i9 by core count, but they've obviously screwed it up again. i9-11900k has 8 cores?? They are pulling a bait and switch with consumers. I didn't like the i9-10980HK as an 8 core part - it should have been an i7. So, I totally agree with you. They really need to find a new marketing tool.

You have to remember you did not really see much a difference with more cores because games where being developed with the main audience being the console crowd. With new consoles being 8 cores most next gen games will be made to take advantage of this. Having anything less then 8 cores is probably going to hurt you with new games coming out end of this year and on.
