Power Injection to Stop Flickering - Govee Outdoor Lights - Walkthrough

***Thanks @Mrrazvyyo for pointing out the reason the power injection didn't work when I tried doing it right after the power supply! The gnd is the wire that has the black line on it. The Data is still the middle and the Voltage is the wire that has nothing written or marked on it. In the video I incorrectly said the wire with the black line on it was voltage and the gnd was the one that had nothing on it.

The best way to help support my channel is to like, comment, make sure your subscribed and share my videos with as many people as you can. The other way is to use my links above as I get a small % at no extra cost to you if you buy something. Thank you all for the support!

Chris, glad I ran into your videos. I do have a question, you have mentioned that it does matter where you can cut the lights. I cut 3 lights after the connector and added an extension, it worked for a bit now they don’t work. What could be the issue? I jumped that section to another connector and it works but only the first three.

Hello Chris loved the video by watching your videos I just bought 15meter 5v ws2821b and esp32 for my room but what I can't figure out is how much power do I need. Please Help

IDEA FOR VIDEO:
On the PRO 200 feet version the power brick gets pretty warm when running all the lights. What if you made a power injection video, but utilized a separate 36V power injector.

Chris your videos are the best out there regarding Govee lights. Have you tried to power inject 9 segments? Is it something that can be done using your method? Will the app re-adjust to recognize 11 segments knowing that the limit is 9?

Love the channel. Can you feed power to the middle of a strip and power both sides of the strip. Say you have a 6 foot long strip and feed the single source power in at the middle of the strip with a power supply, will it light the whole strip or only half.

Is it possible for you to go through a wiring diagram for a video that shows your testing of where a Y is possible, length of extension cables, and where you injected power from/to? Would be great to have this documentation for people working on their houses with these lights. I have a 200ft kit. and I just got support to respond to my plan where they say "Yes its possible":

I want 50ft of lighting, 24 ft of extension cable, the Govee driver module, another 25ft extension, and then 100ft of lighting.

Theoretically, this works. but your power injection and Y split videos give me hope I could run cable differently.

Thanks again for all the work!

Chris I said it once and I'll say it again you've been my favorite channel since I came across it. I watch your videos all the time and it's made me a better contractor. I understand I am not a licensed electrician but I do have a HICL I install Permanent Lighting I'd say as a career now. I wouldn't want to take the shine away from the licensed electricians out there so I'll say that again - I am not a licensed electrician - I just wanna ask, at what point do you think the line is crossed when going from DIY to Electrician work when doing this as a career? As soon as you make the 1st cut into the wires and do any sort of modification? Ik your channel is a DIY channel not intended for commercial use. But I'd probably state that in your videos. I always think God forbid something happened with a bad connection I made and now I have lives at stake and me and my company were the last ones on that property. Not saying you're doing anything wrong either tho. I just do this as a profession now but also don't want to break any rules considering it's been going very well for me.

Anyway, you're the fucking goat and I always enjoy watching your videos, always, please don't stop what you love doing. You deserve everything you ask for and I hope nothing but the best for you and your family bro. Keep being an A1 dude and 1 thing I wanted to mention: you're usually out of frame in your videos, so the 1st time I seen you in your video it was funny idk why 😂😂😂 like holy shit there he is, the man behind the camera ... idk not making fun or jokes it was just funny. Keep killing it dude and I've said this before too, you've inspired me to keep pursuing this shit.

I used 18 gauge copper wire and cabt really push far. Is silcone wire better for these lights?

What if you had a spare power supply from a second kit? Could you use that instead of a jumper?

Are you using the same power supply? Or you did use a different power supply for the injection as im having this issue with my 150ft govee light

I have the 150 ft GOVEE (comes with 2 12 ft extensions). I am planning on using just about all 150 ft but planning on splicing multiple areas with smaller 4 ft runs to hop levels. I wasn't planning on using the 2 extensions but using 16/3 wire for small ones. Do you think this will hurt my build? This video has me a little worried now.

Tnk u broo. Please 🙏 Can I extend the control module "the controller" in order to put it like a switch on the wall? To make a chain between the controller and the strip? Thanks in advance. I use rgbic pro 20m

Please help!!!
I connected 11 strands together on the 150’ Govee kit. The last two strands don’t light up. What can I do to fix that.

1 have (3) 24ft COB LED light strips that are all connected to a 24v power supply. They all turn on but the color changes as it gets further away from the power source. But oddly only when i try to do a "white" color or some variation of white or yellow. It goes from white to almost orange at the end of the lights. Is that a power supply issue? Been thinking of connecting all these lights to that already WLED loaded purple little thing that you made a video about. Would that work?

How is it a solution to power inject from the power supply all the way to end of the strips? The distance demonstrated is also only a few feet.

any idea how many strands/ feet of lights you could safely utilize injection from one power supply ? Say I wanted to use one power supply for 600 feet of lights. TY in advance.
