BTF-LIGHTING Tutorial: How to solve led strip voltage drops (Example:WS2812B strip).

Why the led strip looks red when you light it to white ?
Because the LEDs at the far end of the strip might be dimmer because of the added resistance and voltage drop that occurs as the current flows to that end of the strip

Hey! Question! So if I'm running 15M of this type of strip, what would I need to power it without burning my house down.

second method shown here is known as power Injection. in simple terms its like a water pipeline is pushing (voltage) gallons of waters (current) at it's opening and it has branches at several intervals hence till it reaches it's last most point, the pressure (voltage) will get dropped so to overcome it, at the other end of the main pipeline, you put another water source, so the entire loop gets equal pressure and supply.

hi, good day, can I use different power supply from both ends of my ws2812b led strip, I am planing using a wall charger which is 5v 2a only, connect it directly at the end of my strip as my power injection, will it solve the voltage drop?, Will it burn my leds?, Because in this video, he uses the same methods and does not burn his led strip?, The only different in what will I do is that i will use a wall charger instead of a power supply box, please answer thank you very much

Hi, been looking for a video that show connecting power to both ends as I wasn't sure if you could do it, but would like more info. I got 20m rgb led strip and got a 15A 12v power supply, but I'm only going to be using about 16m for the ceiling, would it be enough

Hi there @BTF-LIGHTING ! If my Current setup is 2x WS2812B 5M 60 Leds (600 Leds total), what would you recommend to me for the most optimal brightness and use as power supply?
I am using the ESP8266 with WLED as the controller.
I have connected the controller and the strips together so the controller works, but i have really low brightness and voltage lag as shown in this video.
Should i use 5V 10A in one side and a 5V 20A in the other side?
Or shortly said, how many amps should i have in total, and does it have any different effect if i just use one power supply with the right amount V and A, or if i connect one power supply in both end?
Appreciate your answer:)

Gave a like as it solved the question I had whether or not I could use a second power supply for the other end of the strip(s). I also have some WS2812B's, and wondered why this happened. I assumed it was my use of USB Cell phone chargers (5V 2.0A, 2A is in my experience, generally sufficient enough in PC Setup desk applications, ) Didn't care for the music though. Not bad by any means, just not my cup of tea. I suppose not everyone wants to talk, and that's fine. Thanks for the solution though! I'll likely be using a second adapter for the other side of my desk to even it out, and not to strain my main adapter, and finally enjoy max brightness! Again, Thanks!

Hey, I have a 5mt 5V 60 led/m do you think 5V 10a could run them cause I've seen someone else power the controller separately from the strip but same power supply with a splitter

Also many people say that a third option you can run some 22 gauge wire from the original power supply (provided there is enough power) and connect it to the other end of the strip. Do you have think that is a safe option as well?

So if I buy a ws2812b strip from ya 60led 5v 5mx3 and a big enough psu could that one psu power all these strips or will a power injection be needed also could it still be done with one psu trying to have a clean setup also I do want a music controller would this be possible?

Also P.S just used ya ws2812b strip to do my Hyperion ambilight tv setup definitly was dope.

Hi, realistically how many watts does a 16 feet WS2812B strip 150 leds/meter draw? I saw 45 Watts, then on some other channel i saw 14 watts. is the 45 watts accounting for 20% overhead?

Here is one question:
So i have 100W 5v 20 a PSU and a 5V WS2812B RGB WiFi controller, can i use only one power supply to power up the strip from both sides like shown and will it work correctly with the controller ?
P.S: I have 1 meter 144 led WS2812b strip.

Ok was hoping for some information .... Not song....

1. I'm confused .... It would seem that if I put one power source on one side and then another power source on the other side that they would short each other out? NO?

Hello, I have a question. I will run 14 meters of 12v RGBW 4 in 1 at 60 leds/meter. I will buy 3 strips of 5 meters. How do I add voltage between two strips?

Ok so basically my problem is I have two 16ft led strips connected to each other, the side closest to the power supply is much brighter than the side farther from It. Does this mean I need more power???
