Ryzen 5 3600 vs Ryzen 5 4500 - RTX 3070

In this video I'm testing the Ryzen 5 3600 vs the Ryzen 5 4500 in different games like Fortnite, Warzone and Cyberpunk. The Ryzen 5 3600 is already almost 4 years old, but it still holds up pretty good, even in recent games. The Ryzen 5 3600 has 6 cores and 12 threads, has a TDP of 65W, has a frequency of 3.6 GHz and a turbo frequency of 4.2 GHz. The Ryzen 5 4500 came out in 2022, it has 6 cores, 12 threads and has a base clock of 3.6GHz and a turbo frequency of 4.1GHz. The R5 5600X has a TDP of 65W and is made with Zen 2 architecture.

People hate on the 4500, but what they dont understand is that its a great option for people who want a brand new budget cpu. Great video!

I'm glad to see you comparing the 4500 to other Ryzen CPUs. It gets NO attention. Can you compare the 4500 and the 4700/4750G to the 2600X? or, At least the 4500 to the 2600X?

A hidden caveat is that the Ryzen 5 4500 is limited to Pci-E 3.0, whereas the Ryzen 5 3600 has Pci-E 4.0 support (If your motherboard supports Pci-E 4.0). This can make a big difference on newer graphics cards that may only use half (x8 instead of x16) of the Pci-E lane. As of today the price difference is only $10, and you'll get double the bandwidth for NVMe SSD's and a improvement in graphical performance.

Looking at temps the 4500 would probably be better for small case builds like a Thermaltake tower 100 or 200 on itx or Matx board. Performance seems to be close enough to the 3600

saw this r5 4500 on my local store today and it is only about 4$ expensive than the 3600, I'm using this cpu to play valorant and cs2... any idea which one i should pick? I'm sticking with a default cooler atm, that's next on my list

So sad. I have RTX 3070 Ti + Ryzen 5 4500 (upgrade to R9 5900X soon) and my GPU works for 25% only while CPU 85% in Cyberpunk 2077. How to fix this awful game?
