Laurence’s talk uncovers the mystery of our genome. He compares our understanding of DNA to a Swiss watch and to a Mickey Mouse watch, as two different views of what our genome could be like. This is a fast moving area of research, which holds great relevance for the next generation medicine.

Laurence Hurst is Professor of Evolutionary Genetics in the Department of
Biology and Biochemistry at The University of Bath. His research interests
include a broad span of evolution, genetics and genomics.
