What drives us to get and keep so much stuff - even objects that we rarely, if ever, use?

For Candy Hyatt and her ex-partner Jack, they put their heart and soul into creating what they thought was their forever home - building up the bricks with all the mementos from the time they’d spent together. But one day a fire burnt it to the ground, and shortly after that they went their separate ways. For Candy, the relationship changed when the ‘stuff’ they cherished disappeared.

In Deeply Human, Dessa looks into what drives us to get and keep so much stuff.

Lyrical topic and representation, but it does nothing to answer the question in the title, and doesn't even give any info on why they would split up after their stuff was gone - major events are very often the catalyst for a split, even when there is no stuff-loss involved. This video is a mess.

In this free thinking world and materialism dominates; it is a false idea that everything especially material things we have gives us happiness. There is a God to remind us; everything is passing by and He is to be remembered in prayer in our everyday life as in "Our Father" prayer and may God bless our daily needs not the wants. Thanks‼️

No, stuff will not split a relationship unless their marriage was unstable from the very beginning.
