The low FODMAP diet should only be undertaken under the supervision of a registered dietitian. The elimination phase of the low FODMAP diet is extremely restrictive and should only be implemented for a limited period of time as part of a monitored treatment programme for medically diagnosed gut conditions. Due to the restrictive nature of the diet, it is not recommended for people with a history of disordered eating. Please talk to a professional if you have any concerns regarding the suitability of the low FODMAP diet for your individual circumstances.

Yes, yes, yes! Thank you for putting this video out there. As I have been watching all of these influencers come out with these videos, I have been thinking so many of your same thoughts. As a fellow IBS sufferer, I have also been dealing with these issues for as long as I can remember. Long before I went vegan and if anything going vegan actually helped me realize that my symptoms were not normal. I am so thankful for the low fodmap diet and for how much I am learning to listen to and take care of my body. And I am vegan for the animals and for the earth. And it’s great that it is good for my body as well!

I was nervous when I started watching but agree with everything you said. I am currently having stomach issues (possibly related to hormones) but I would never think of going back to eating meat. There is always another way. You don't have to kill animals to be healthy. ❤️

Your face in the beginning :D Exactly how I feel (and probably look) every time I come across one of the bs-headlines you mention. Thank you for this video, it is much needed - and much appreciated. Also: Tits & wine??? Romance never dies indeed! Alice (Aliciouslog) xx

I put off watching this for nearly a week because I knew it would make me feel terrible about myself. I have had tummy issues all my life so I know that meat isn't a cure or anything like that. I eat vegan aside from two or three meals per week. I started out intending to keep being vegan while doing low fodmap. However, I quickly discovered that I can't eat potatoes or any other nightshades. I tried to do it but I began to recognize disordered thoughts about food eg, "oh I guess I'll just eat nothing", fear of food, wanting to track everything super accurately. Plus I couldn't get the calories I needed because I was in the elimination phase sticking to all the portion sizes so I was quickly losing weight. I also found that adding extra fat or too many nuts or seeds to meals caused problems too. So the only calorie-dense low fodmap things I could think of were meat and eggs. I don't like it, but it is purely a calorie / mental health decision. I hope to eventually learn my tolerances so well that I can return to veganism, but without the almighty spud and tomato, it's very hard.
