What helped me read more when I was in med school was my habit of reading for at least 15 mins every night before bed; it seems like nothing but it all adds up! Anyone can read for at least 15 mins if they really want to read more!

If you're reading a book and not having fun, throw the book.

Thanks to you, I've recently started taking notes down in Notion when I'm reading - summarising as I go (coz I find highlighting in the Kindle is still a big chaotic mess at the end of reading - I remember better when I've written it down in my own words). And now I realise I've got a skeleton script of some book reviews I can now make on my channel. Double-win! Thanks, Ali! 🙌

Great tips. Making summaries is recommended in speed reading courses because it forces your brain to think about and try to understand what you just read. It works well.

The emphasis on active reading, note-taking, and visualization is spot-on.

The tip about summarizing the material in your own words is such a simple yet effective way to reinforce understanding. Also, the suggestion to teach the material to someone else is a great way to solidify the information.

I find that reading book summaries help me to refresh and recap the book I just read too! And also creating a list of action steps to take instantly. Very helpful tips Ali! 👍
