There is an important twist whenever the 13th publisher also did not like it and tossed it aside, his daughter picked it up, and was not able to stop reading it, only then the publisher thought that there may be something on it.

I bet those 12 publishers are kicking themselves now

Another good example is Hajime Isayama, the creator and writer of Attack on Titan. He got rejected so many times that when he finally got accepted, he thought the publishers had bad taste(because he doubted his work so much). He's now one of the highest-paid mangakas of all time.

I think persistance is something that truly describes her persona. Living of government support yet still striving for greatness, sometimes in that atate you only think of survival….she didn’t write just one book, in her head was a whole saga. Her brain is a treasure.

That last question is “the” hardest part. Our minds keep evaluating whether or not to keep going.

Did you know that the guy who had to review it actually only looked at it after his daughter loved it?

What have we learned here? That the publishers are probably still hitting their head on the Philosophers/Sorcerer's Stone book to this day

I love how Ali had to give disclaimer about personal beliefs. 😂

Idrc about what she thinks. Her opinions don't harm anyone. If they offend you then leave twitter. Anyway, yeah, idc. Her buisness is her buisness. I have so much respect for her. She created my favourite franchise ever and brought me so much happiness. She's a kind person who donates to charities. I'll forever respect her.

So in the end it still all comes down to luck. However, her luck was multiplid exponentially by her wits and genius in writing.

being persistent can do no harm, what you’re being persistent about can.

I absolutely love her for making my childhood so much better. And also for standing against delusional online bullies. She’s just amazing ♥️

The last part is for real. I never liked the idea of giving up, but I was stuck on an educational path for years too long before deciding to switch my major too late for more enriching experiences in college. If I had switched much earlier, things could've turned out better. So don't confuse determination with stubbornness, and don't confuse resolution with sink cost fallacy

I think she sent it to several literary agents first then Christopher Little’s agency picked it up and then they had 12 publishers turned them down before this one picked it up.

Novel House Publishing wrote an article on how that worked and watch the entire documentary and movie on it. Along with all her interviews.

The 12 publishers who rejected J.K. must’ve felt really stupid 😂😂😂😂
