You can't hardly beat homemade rolls and homemade butter. Growing up, we had a cow my daddy milked, and my mom churned so we'd have butter. Your rolls look delicious and quite easy to make.

Adding the egg just enriches the dough, making the finished rolls a little more tender. My grandmother's best friend would always come and spend a full day with us, and she'd bake up several loaves of bread, rolls, cinnamon rolls, burger buns, etc. and fill our freezer, then we'd send her home with all kinds of jam, preserves, pickles, fresh garden produce, milk, homemade butter, fresh eggs and such. Old fashioned barter system.

My Mother would get up early on Sunday morning and make rolls. I love them to this day. My Mother akso made biscuits every day for dinner. They were delicious. Cooking for your family is a gift that can never be forgotten whether it is your recipe or not. I learned to cook by watching my Mother cook. I also loved to watch Julia Child, America's first television cook, cook as her technique was flawless. A good bible lesson and prayer makes it special as well as sharing a meal and the Word with somebody.
