All very interesting but she leaves out the most important fact (at least to me). If you sign up for Medicare advantage for two years (1+1) and at the third year decide you want to go back to Medicare, it’s not that easy. Medicare will almost with certainty have you go through their underwriting process to see if they want to readmit you. They don’t have to readmit you. They will do a deep dive into your medical history and if they don’t like what they see, you can be denied re admittance or have your rate raised to a point where it doesn’t make sense for you to come back in. Just like any other insurance company. Then, if you have major health problems in your future, get denied re-admittance back in to Medicare and have to go back to another “advantage plan” the “no cap” out of pocket costs loom large. Congress is talking about capping OPC in 2025, but who knows how high that cap will be or even if they’ll do it? I have never heard an insurance agent discuss this VERY important point. Should be mandatory disclosure. Shame on you Joe Namath! 😮

The reason why I didn't choose MA plan was because it reminded so much the HMO and PPO plans that were options when I was working. The fact that you need to ask for approval on virtually everything looked annoying. In Oklahoma your limted to the counties you live in. There were no 'National" plan coverages. So if you don't like to travel, in my state, this may work for you. Secondly, when I was working full-time, the 80/20 plan Major Medical deductibles gradually increased over time. That's why I wouldn't take a MA for anything. I am have very happy with my traditional medicare plan. Also traditional medicare saved me alot of money compared to the retiree plan my past employer offered. It was a "community" plan where everyone that joined had the same monthly premium minus vision, dental, and life insurance....double the premium I am curretly paying. It was worth it to ask alot of questions and do research. Like they say, there's no free lunch. Stephanie your the BEST!!

Good and helpful presentation but some of us are veterans with VA medical benefits. The VA like Medicare has coverage gaps. I happen to need dental and expanded vision coverage. Can you address plans that supplement VA COVERAGE.

Am at full retirement age but am still working. Will be collecting social security. I do have health and dental coverage from my place of employment. Would you advise me to ADD part C or is that not advisable at this point?

Does the Medicare advantage plan pay for dental work? Like crowns plus all dental work? I’d just changed my plan to the advantage plan. Hope this was a good choice to make. I’m 70 years old now also have MS immune disease . Live on my social security just apply for Medicare for extra help I’d really need that.

I currently have parts A and B. This is the first time I've heard that you can only get part C if you also have parts A and B. I have a friend who's on medicaid so I guess that's different for him. He only pays for c.

I would like to be able to seamlessly carry health insurance while living abroad part time. Is there a good way to do this?
