For overheating, here are some things you can change that can help:
- If you are recording in 60fps or 120fps and you are uploading in 30fps, you may as-well record at 30fps on the camera. If not available at 30fps, there should be an option for 25fps
- If you are recording at 4k or higher, don't since you don't upload in 4k or 1440p
- Lowering the bitrate of the video
- I believe you said once that you record directly to your computer, so alternatively to lowering bitrate, make sure you are using a usb 3 cable. You are fine if both ends of the cable are usb-c, but if one end has a rectangular port (usb-a) then make sure the plastic on the computer port AND inside the rectangular connector of the usb cable is blue.
- If you don't record directly to the computer, using two memory cards can cause overheating

Also, when you will be getting a new camera i'd highly recommend a dedicated video camera. A Sony fx-3 will do. It has a dedicated fan for cooling and it's a brilliant video camera, even used by pros. The only problem is that it's £4000. Since it's a Sony camera, your current lenses will fit on this camera.
