Full Poem:

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

Music:
Konfrontation (Romeos Erbe) by Sascha Ende

My step father died in January, although he was not my father it felt like one, he was a gentleman, he gave instead of receiving, he was a rock, he loved us, i have almost no words to describe what he was, who he was, only that, men like him are very rare, why do the best persons in this world go early, and the ones who stay in this world are the bad ones?
i want to be like him, but im not even a sinch of what he was, he lived life, every bloody second of it, and on his last days he fought like no other, my respects to him, now he is with his friends, on the eternity, on those soft stars in the night, he is not anymore, but i hope he can be alright wherever he is.

My mother chose this poem for her funeral and she passed one year ago on this date. The fact that this came up a year later feels like a sign from her. She was a saint. I couldn't have had a better mother.

"I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints on snow.. "
Marvellous depiction of supremacy of soul over body in our earthly sojourn.
for those who've lost( n who hasn't!?) their loved ones. Everyday I feel the all-pervading presence of my mother whose death anniversary falls on 29th March, throughout in the universe much like the profound lines of the great poem.
Thanks a lot for this highly uplifting upload!

I’m in awe of this poem. We loathe death for what it brings. The pain, the sorrow, the loss. But to internalize these words would be to change those feelings of despair into feelings of hope and happiness.

One of my favourite poems of all time. 🖤 “when you awaken in the morning’s hush, I am the swift uplifting rush.” ✨

I heard this for the first time at a memorial service when I was a kid.

I sung this in my high school choir and didn't realize how many people knew it and how much it touched their hearts. It's really a beautiful piece

My father died September 29, 2024. I always listened to this to bring me comfort, but it was difficult since I had a hard time believing that he really passed on. He raised me along with my mother, it is one of the many things I can thank him for.
Rest In Peace dear father.

Oh, Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling from Glen to Glen, and down the the mountain side. The summer's gone, and all the roses falling, it's You, it's you must go and I must bide.

We buried my wife's brother yesterday. I have never heard her weep the way she wept. All I could do was hold her and pray! He was a lovely, gentle, gentleman. The last time she saw him was just three days before, when she was told he only had hours.

This channel has inspired me so much... Sometimes I feel so utterly unmotivated to work on my poetry channel because sometimes I feel it doesn't grow but then I see art like this remember how art heals❤✨
