Definitely one of the best scenes in the movie. Just love how they used a bit of 'Breaking of the Fellowship' and then the actual Hobbits theme kicks in! Just gets me everytime :')

Talk all you want about Valar, Maiar, gods, demons, and kings. For me, things like this are why I love Tolkien’s work.

This really is the best part of The Hobbit for me, and captures Galadriel's serenity and kindness perfectly. She might just be my favorite fictional female character of all time

Otherworldly scene. In writing, acting, music and overall execution. It’s perfection. This is what cinema should be like.

Beautiful scene and really captures the essence of Bilbo and Gandalf's friendship. Tolkien and Jackson are both genius' :D

If you read about Tolkien, and his life. I really believe this scene here encompasses the message of The Hobbit, LOTR, etc... Having seen such evil in his life, he also saw what the good did.

The hobbits are Eru's secret emissaries. the most humble, the most unassuming, the purest of hearts. true power is ethereal, it's transcendent.

When the music of the shire comes in I feel the urge to cry every time. The first time I heard it I was overcome with emotion

The small things in life the good done by ordinary folk inspire great power to protect it.

Shout out to whoever had the job of making sure Galadriel’s gown always draped perfectly when she turns around, because a human wearing that would trip and fall over.

People look to Gandalf for hope & courage that only he can inspire. And yet they never thought to stop and think "who does HE look to for hope & courage?" It says so much that a being so powerful that he's on par with Sauron & the Balrog beacuse they're all Maiar which puts him behind only the Valar & Eru Ilúvatar himself but he will always look for his comfort in beings as "insignificant" as Hobbits & especially on as "unremarkable" as Bilbo Baggins

"I've found that it is the small things, everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay"

I use this as my own philosophical type of thought
