I hate to break some stereotypes, but I'm NOT fat, my house is CLEAN, I HATE McDonalds, and I've visited more than 30 states in the U.S.

A Russian comedian, who had immigrated to the U.S. and became a citizen, said while on stage, "You cannot immigrate to France and become French. You cannot immigrate to Germany and become a German. You cannot immigrate to Sweden and become Swedish. But you can immigrate to America and become an American.

I was fortunate enough to travel to Russia for some work with Russian orphanages. I 1st went to Moscow then traveled to Yoshkar-Ola by train. It was a wonderful experience. People are on the street were generally not friendly and open in public but I found that once I was in peoples homes or inside places that the people were very warm and open and also very sweet people. I asked about this and was told that this closed behavior in public was a holdover from the Soviet era. I had people give and make gifts for me that knew they would never meet me in person. They had just heard that i was coming there. That really touched me.

I understand their answers about moving to the U.S. Personally, I would love to live in Russia for a couple of years, but then come back to the U.S. There is no better way to learn about a place and dispel stereotypes.

My take on Russia is that like us, their political situation has really let down their people, given them a bad name

Most people who don’t travel tend to work all the time and often don’t realize how varied the US really is. Speaking as someone from the rural southeast, many people just don’t consider much of the world outside a ~2hr drive radius of where they live.

As far as russian stereotypes go we always hear AK 47s and vodka with the track pants and a cigarette

I travel predominately around the US domestically and try to stick to our national parks as a destination. Yellowstone, Glacier, Bryce Canyon, Yosemite are all beautiful places!

I know you posted this a while ago but, I have the answer to your question about traveling Irina...There can be a myriad of reasons why one doesn't travel within their own country...but as one who does not travel myself, I can say that if I could go to Russia I would absolutely love to travel around and see for example, the Winter garden Palace, or Yekaterinburg, or the little house for the children of the Czar, on the grounds of Tsarskoye Selo, so if I could travel to another country I would be very interested in seeing all the great sites..but as I have been in America for 55 years i pretty much known all the great places here and while I would be impressed, it just isn't the same as it would be if I could go to another country....thank you for a great post!

7:10 russian stereotypes.. democracy is such an alien concept to russians that they often forget how to say it...😂

Thing is with traveling all over the country, its not that people don't want to, it's that people can't, for their own reasons. They're poor and can't afford to go anywhere, or work too much and aren't allowed to leave.

A closer look at the U.S. numbers in adults: Roughly two out of three U.S. adults are overweight or obese (69 percent) and one out of three are obese (36 percent).

As a American rather than, as all Americans..I must say Russian women are beautiful, and adorable all in one.

Boy I need to put my thoughts into a comment at the end of a video… I have mad respect for people that love their home country! That’s the most American thing I can hear from a non-American

A Video that highlights the different accents in the US would be interesting to see. I wonder which accents you would find easier or harder to understand.
