What a great review! It would be nice to see those rods compared to the world famous Big Water original Ugly Stiks.

Of the catfish series, I plan on owning the 7’ casting version for pier and maybe boat work, or heavy bass fishing, and the 8’ spinning version as an entry level surf rod. I currently have the ML striper rod and also plan on getting the MH version as well. Cheers!

I had to ask a question to Cabela's a while back determining which rod is different from one another. They both look almost the same, but the person who replied to my question said the Catfish rod has longer grips than the Striper version. By watching this video, now I know the true difference between the two. Thanks.

I might invest in the catfish rod, but not sure which length to get yet. I wish the 7 ft rod was two piece, but it's not. I want to use that with a Zebco 888 for some serious big lunker catfishing hopefully next summer.

I usually fish for stripers a lot more than catfish but prefer the catfish rod because i love to fish with cutbait n i can throw a heavier sinker

Nice video have one of the catfish rods and i don’t care for the longer handle But like the rod for the fish we have around here (central/south Texas) caught 22 in red with it and it handled it with no problem

*Is everything you would expect from uglystik! Very reliable and strong but still sensitive enough to feel the bottom or small bites.*

Why do you want a softer blank for carp fishing?

I'm so happy to find this video. It was just what I was looking for. Have you used circle hooks with the stripper rod? If so how is the hook up using circle hooks. Thanks Tommy
