Great video, your reviews are my favorites. Not many people take the time to show the bends in the blanks, which is one of the most important aspects of rods. One question on the Tiger Elite, do you think it would be a good rod for using 2oz of lead with live bait for catfish? Not big baits, bluegill in the 2-4” range.

You need to go after bigger fish to see the value of the stiffer blank...I've never fished either type. So you can discount anything I say here. Maybe over the next year or two I will have something to show on Stripers...I_fish why don't you get after Chinooks? Don't they come in to Chicago area? I know they used to come into the St Joe River like last October

I just purchased the Tiger Elite 7' Heavy spinning and a Daiwa BG 4000, they arrive tomorrow and I'll spool it up with 30lb braid.
I fish the bays in San Diego and I needed a rig that can handle 5 ounce umbrella rigs.
When I first saw your review of the casting 7' heavy my heart sunk and I thought my Elite was going to be too stiff.
But then I saw this review and I'm looking forward to this weekend trying it out.

I'm looking to buy the ugly stik tiger elite lite 7' spinning rod USTE1440S701 heavy 1pc 1-5 oz lure weight from bass pro at $79.99. I'm buying this to cast heavier topwater plugs (2-3oz) for Striped Bass from my kayak in saltwater. Loved your video but am still curious how this rod will perform with the heavy plugs. What is your opinion of casting distance and how does the rod handle 8 to 30 lb fish?
I'm asking this assuming that you've fished with the rods.

Hello I like to Carp fish but am having a difficult time finding a rod. My favorite rods are Ugly Stik 7’ Medium Light Striper rods. I use spinning gear and can’t seem to find a decent rod with a 7’ striper ML action. Are the Tiger Elite 6’9” Medium Spinners similar? If not what would you suggest to be the closest thing? I currently use a 7’ “Lite Pro” medium from Walmart
