I have one of these with 100 pound braid. I feel like the reel will break before the pole or line. I have a backup Abu Garcia though when it does.

What size reel would you pair with this rod a 4000 or a 5000 i have same rod

Iv got mine with a baitcaster Ozark trail reel 12 lbs line with a Ugly cat 7" medium heavy for catfish in my area there not giants but 6lbs to 10lbs that I've seen in the lower Rio Grande River valley 5, 000 feet in altitude. The Lord Jesus Christ only one lord. Like the show 🙏 for all this year.

The line ratings on the rod are for mono. Braid is considerably smaller diameter than mono. Also the 10-30 line rating is for optimum casting distance, not if you use over 30lb test it will break the rod.
