My pet peeve with most designers is that they design for beauty and not for real living. I will never buy a chair that is beautiful, but uncomfortable. You truly design for real living and comfort. Thank you!

“I am not a white mom in suburbia” 😂
No, but I am, and even I don’t want that cheesy farmhouse shit.

QUICK TIP💡: If you put a piece of paper under the foot of your furniture leg and use a pen/pencil to trace it, you can quickly match which size furniture pad will best fit your needs! You're welcome 😚

You could get rich starting a company cleaning only baseboards! No one wants to clean them🙄

As a paint specialist at Lowe's and formerly THD: We have the technology to match paint colors-NOT the sheen. Sheen has to be determined by "eye". Even with the technology the match is never guaranteed 100%. Remember also that even if you have the name of the color and sheen if it has been on the wall for a long time the color could have changed. We do keep records for condo associations but only if they request it.

"I am not a white mom in suburbia." Dead. As a white mom in suburbia, I can say all my neighbors have farmhouse everything everywhere. When I was house shopping, 9 of 10 houses had a "gather" sign somewhere in the house. A whole beautiful market of homes that were identical with decor. I just can't.

I love your snarky humor. It's not mean, it's just the truth. You're excellent at delivering constructive criticism. Lol

Speaking as a...ahem...woman painter (former union), please note that a good professional painter brings experience, skills, and knowledge to your home or job site. And many paint stores only give samples in flat, so check first. And store your unused paint in a temperature controlled environment for no more than a year coating systems can an do go bad. Any professional should dress and conduct themselves in a way that makes you feel comfortable in your home.

Caulk is a magical substance, as is wood filler putty. Miraculous, underrated and cheap! Also, you do have a beautiful home. I love those huge windows in your living room!

I totally agree that interior decor must take into account the architectural style. HOWEVER - huge caveat, proviso, talking point (take your pick) - I can think of nothing so glamorous as a traditional European room complete with built in mirrors, high ceilings, and elaborate moldings decorated with modern furniture. Tres chic! A similar aesthetic works in reverse. My parents had a very modern house with 23-foot ceilings and lots of glass. The upholstered pieces were mostly contemporary, but the starkly modern house was the perfect foil for my parent's highly personal blend of museum-quality antiques. Mom displayed a formal Japanese Wedding kimono in a contemporary hallway with modern museum track lighting - breath-taking! Architecture informs interior design, BUT the interior design does NOT need to "match" the architecture!

Super helpful. Thank you. I would just like to mention that those rubber "honeycomb" type non slip pads for under the carpet are awful if you don't plan to switch it out yearly. We pulled up a large area rug that was never moved for over a decade and the rubber pad had adhered to the wood floor. I had to scrape it up. It was horrible! It was not a warm climate either. We lived up north.

Furniture pads: Helps to have a good 'relationship' with the person down stairs. Person above me: I knew all the furniture she had, plus her dang floor machine.

Hahahaha, you had so many one liners in this video😂 but seriously everytime I see a farmhouse sign that says "kitchen" I want to lose it ! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Another thing with rug pads - they also help protect your wood floors if the rug has a rough backing. I had a rug years ago that I never put a pad under. When I rolled it up to pack it to move out of my apartment, I noticed the floor was slightly worn/scuffed underneath. Now I always use a pad until the rug has one of those softer, more grippy backings that don't slide.

Baseboards are the bane of my existence😑 In my much younger days, I did the cleaning myself but now if I get down there, I might not get up😳 I gladly pay a cleaning service to do this for me!

As someone with hardwood floors and large dogs, I consider all that wear as patina. That’s what I tell myself.

I had a client at a production home development, who insisted on high gloss enamel throughout her home. Walls, ceilings, doors, trim ... everything. The texture was orange peel (a decent finish for a production home). The developer insisted on a $15, 000 deposit to repaint the interior in case the loan fell through or the house didn’t close. By the way, this was a 5, 000 sf home with 9’ ceilings, 8’ doors, 5 bedrooms, 5 1/2 bathrooms. Normally we used flat paint on walls and ceilings & satin on doors and trim. The house looked cheap, just plain horrible.

The blanket ladder had me worried about watching. It’s one of the last few Farmy things I haven’t been able to toss.🤣 “But I’m hungry” is the quote of the year.👏🏻🤣
