All you having trouble is related to the power, like he states his TV can run it most won't run correctly so make sure you get a power delivery port on your hub!

I have different brand of usb hub with no lan port, just usb and sd card. At first it didn't work and my chromecast can't read my flashdrive. I then checked for update for chromecast and installed it. After that I tried to insert my flashdrive again and it works perfectly. For everyone who is encountering the same problem, maybe try updating your chromecast, it is located in the settings.

Unless it's changed recently, the USB memory stick has to be FAT32, which means files size can't exceed 4GB. Not much good for a 4K movie.

Hi everybody,
I bought this USB-C Hub and it works fine with my Google TV Chromecast. Everythink works fine except that when I reboot the Google TV, I lost RJ45 ethernet connexion. I have to unplug and then plug in the RJ45 cable to restore ethernet connexion. Does someone have the same problem ? Could you try to restart Google TV to say to me ?

It's cap doesn't work no matter the USB.. the operating system doesn't allow you to expand the storage.

My chromecast remote died after couple of months (phanthom key presses, constant unpairing). I tryed pairing xiaomi remote (not compatible), fire remote (no voice compatibility). I had to get the hub to connect generic android tv USB remote/air mouse. USB remote is fully compatible including voice commands. On the plus side now I have air remote on my chromecast. And it actualy looks like a remote, not a bar of soap.

the biggest problem is that most apps do not support being moved to external storage. so you run out of storage anyway.

Has Google updated firmware or other software on the Chromecast to make it impossible to use with a hub? As of June, 2021, I get an insufficient power message when trying the set up Geek Street details here. I've tried several power supplies to an Anker 8-in-1 USB-C hub — nothing works. I can't help wondering whether Google is jumping on the Apple/Amazon/etc bandwagon by trying to limit users to _only_ the set up that Google wants.

Hi .I have no sound coming out of tv when this gets connected. Take the hub away from set up and it works fine 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Not only does it have to be FAT32, with it's limited partition size of 32gb and file size of 4gb, but it needs to be formatted by the Chromecast itself. Meaning you cant just pop any old thumb drive in there coz you'll have to make sure it was formatted on the device before you put any files on it to try and watch.

Not a deal breaker but seriously limits the usability and really should be mentioned in any video claiming to unlock your Chromecasts potential.
