Boris Johnson is clinging to power and vowing to fight on, after the resignation of dozens of members of his government. Many believe the British Prime Minister cannot remain in office and will be forced out within days.

The latest crisis began with the resignation of Mr Johnson’s Chancellor Rishi Sunak and health secretary Sajid Javid. Since then more than 40 other ministers have resigned, with many of them calling on Mr Johnson to step down immediately or be forced from office.

It follows a series of scandals, with accusations that Mr Johnson lacks honesty and integrity and has repeatedly lied to his party and the country.

Recently more than 40% of his Conservative MPs declared that they had no confidence in Boris Johnson's leadership.

Many Conservatives believe the prime minister has become an electoral liability who is tarnishing the reputation of their party.

Huw Edwards presents BBC News at Ten reporting by political editor Chris Mason.

I love how UK politics in a nutshell is just people yelling, laughing, and roasting each other

As an American, I’m fascinated by the PM questions process. A mixture of politeness and “rudeness” combined.

At such a divided time in the nation's history, Boris has managed to single handedly unite the country against him!

An example for American politicians, you don't need to stand behind a corrupt man. Hold him accountable.

Just think about that last statement. He's saying 1. "I should stay because the public voted me in" and simultaneously 2. "If we have an election we'll lose". Basically he's admitting the public don't want them in

We need someone who actually cares about this country and puts it's people first, not themselves

Never in the history of UK politics has an MP been so hesitant to resign no matter how many accusations have been made against them, its honestly a joke at this point

i think all the politicians are at fault for allowing personal gratification over and above the people of the country. This goes on in both parties and we need a voting system to change.

Well done to the UK parliament to have the courage to stand up and make this happen. If only the US could've done that with Trump.

He is loving every minute of the attention he's getting.

It's nice to see Conservatives in Britain are brave enough and democratic enough to publicly demand their leader resign. We never see that in Canada, regardless of how bad Conservative or Liberal leaders are!

This can never happen in Ghana. His own MP going hard on him to resign.
Wow this is what we call democracy not what we practice here.

The only reason why it's taken this long is because everyone was distracted by Ukraine. I remember right before the war started his scandals we're getting massive publicity.

The moment you realise that BJ has no political ambition beyond being PM, his behaviour becomes understandable. He does not care about a dysfunctional government as he has no agenda beyond being PM. Hence, he'll never resign over this. They'll have to drag him out.

Sajid said "at some point we have to understand that enough is enough" well "at some point" has already been too long, it's pointless saying "enough is enough" after the car crash and everyone is decided.

The British parliament is so entertaining. Compared to some parliaments, I can fall asleep.

At all times, his facial expression is one of duper’s delight. He knows he’s a con artist who’s tricked the people.
