HOW TO DRY MINT LEAVES FOR COOKING AND FOR TEA - WITHOUT DEHYDRATOR - DRYING HERBS AT HOME

To dry mint leaves at home, you do NOT need an oven, or dehydrator, or microwave. All you need is air and I will show you how.
I dry mint leaves for both cooking and tea. Many Bulgarian recipes call for dry mint, so I always need a good amount on hand. Drying herbs at home will save you a lot of money because there is no such a thing as cheap dried herbs at the store. Even the farmer's markets are expensive and that's why I started growing my own mint.
The best way to dry mint for storage and later use is to clip the young ones, and either place them on a try in the kitchen or tie them in a bunch and hang them. In either case, it shouldn't take more than a week for your mint to dry completely even in humid climates. Keep in mind that if you are in a windy area, hanging the mint outside could damage the leaves ones it starts getting too dry.

Thanks, All the way from Alaska. Yes, I started a Herb garden, first year harvest and I am impressed with the Mint. I started Apple Mint and Chocolate Mint as well as the main breed. I really love these plants, and all that God has Given us so we can feed the world.

Mint grows wild where I’m at, so this is helpful.
And by wild, I mean it’s just kind of here, with the dandelion and clover.

Thank you for teaching us how to trim, dry and store our mint leaves. My mint first year took over my garden, now 2nd year, I keep it trimmed down. 🇨🇦

Glad I found your video. I just trimmed my spearmint plant and wanted to find out how to dry it. Happy you recommended just laying leaves out to dry, no oven. I too live in AZ, and the last thing I wanted to do is turn the oven on. Looking forward to more videos

Great share! Mint really is fantastic. For us the Sweet Mint has been the best for eating or tea, etc. but the Chocolate Mint grows so much more productively and smells so good. The Spearmint is really good too. Ours has been going crazy right now and needs a good trim. Will have to tie it up like this. Thanks for the share!
