It said the planet is a mere decade away from reaching the earlier goal of limiting warming to ONE-point-FIVE degree Celsius.
Experts see that critical threshold as a tipping point, after which risks from a warming Earth begin to pile on.
The report called on world leaders to dramatically pick up the pace of weaning away from fossil fuel use.
It also highlighted the threat global warming poses to human health.
