General Relativity: Gravity, Light, and the Curvature of Spacetime

Over a century ago, Albert Einstein revolutionized our understanding of space, time, and gravity in his General Theory of Relativity, proposing that gravity is in reality not a force, but a warping of spacetime. In my video entry for the 2019 Breakthrough Junior Challenge, I’ll attempt to illustrate this concept by contrasting it with the more traditional Newtonian approach to gravity, and utilizing the equivalence principle to illustrate the bending of light.
