Just moments ago I was having this exact conversation with my younger brother and he was like, isn't it crazy that the sun would disappear and we'd only notice that after whole 8 minutes and I told him, yeah it would be so crazy that we'd be orbiting almost *nothing* for 8 minutes and he got confused.
