The Men’s 1500m Lived Up to Every Bit of the Hype!

All the talk hit the track in the Men’s Short Distance 1500m, and it delivered. Billed as one of the unmissable races of Grand Slam Track Kingston, the hype was real. Olympic Champions, World Champions, Racers and Challengers all lined up: Cole Hocker, Marco Arop, Josh Kerr, Yared Nuguse, Emmanuel Wanyonyi, and none of them held back. This was the 1500m at its absolute best

The home of athletics is in Europe, the slams would have sold out anywhere from Germany, to Poland, to Hungary. Great concept, perhaps the location choices could improve.

I think Wanyoni coped with the heat a lot better than the other larger runners, which made him fresher for the final lap. And his 800 speed helped him pick off the 1500m specialists at the very end.

I'm feeling Grand Slam!!! After the teething problems I'm getting into it now. It has a genuinely exciting energy seeing so many of the big names in all the races. I love athletics!
