On the way to msu racing clubs car show my friend showed off what his new 2 step can do

Yes i am driving an e36 m3. Mods are jb4 g5 iso with downpipes and secondary cats removed. Stock mid section and muffler.

I installed it but it does not work. I set the rpm at 2500 first, press clutch and pressed gas pedal 100% down and nothing.i checked the wiring twice and still nothing. I checked if my gas pedal works and it does open 100%. So I don't know if the relay is bad or I am doing something wrong.
Is there any video that would show step by step how to engage it?

Hey so I installed my 2step relay and car never backfires. If I sit on it for a while it'll shit power down. But 2 step works, just no back fires at all. Did you do any exhaust work? I have catless dp
