I look at Robert Redford here and think about the character that played the Harvard snob in "Good Will Hunting". Just a character type - a physical resemblance mostly. I was recruited for an Ivy League crew team. The guys all looked like that. But what I really liked about this love story is how well they played up Redfords carefree attitude about school. He didn't have to study hard. And that smile he gives Barbra, that look that says "why are you so serious about everything - school, politics, etc? I remember that look a lot. Maybe he was a male version of the Manic Pixie Dream Girl - i.e a Manic Pixie Dream Guy. You dont hear as much about them, but if any guy could play a Manic Pixie Dream Guy, Redford could.

I was 4 years old but I loved this movie the love story of all time it has been with me through my whole life.

I always loved this film!my whole life!..then..Barbra Streisand became a great singer..I admired her so much!..And obviously, the great actor, Robert Redford

She had brains. He had low motivation and sense of goals. Movie wasn't all about looks. He had no real committment and She had the passion. The beauty she had was not just on the surface but deep thoughts and beliefs. He was more detached. Maybe still maturing. One can see different things in the movie. He never wanted their child to later be in his life. No meaning to him. No passion
