Barbra Streisand - 1986 - One Voice - The Way We Were

On the eve of the 1986 US Presidential elections, Barbra Streisand welcomed 500 guests to her Malibu home for her first full-length concert in 20 years. Originally planned as a fundraiser for the Democratic party, the concert was subsequently broadcast on television to great acclaim and has since raised millions for charity. The concert includes many of Streisand's best-loved songs such as 'Somewhere', 'People' and 'The Way We Were'. Also features a special guest appearance from Barry Gibb.

Barbra 44 here and still absolutely golden-voiced. Even through early 90s she still sounded phenomenal and looked it too. This concert was so well-engineered considering it was live and for video and audio.

Barbra Streisand was a bit before my time, but my mum used to listen to her songs all the time. I now listen back on these tunes, which I didn’t particularly like as a child, and now they fill me with such a powerful sense of nostalgia, of my mum doing housework or cooking dinner on a Sunday. That’s music for you 🫶
