TUTORIAL: How to Write a Grant Application - Part 1
Показать описание
You don’t have several years to learn grant writing the hard way? No problem! This video is part one of three with the best advice we have on how to write a grant. The first two steps discussed in the video cover:
FOLLOW YOUR NORTH STAR (The funding guidelines): Read the funding guidelines on the grant program from beginning to end and then take a break. Then come back to the guidelines and reread them carefully. Be sure to locate the sections on what information the funder wants in your grant narrative and the scoring criteria.
PREPARE YOUR NARRATIVE SKELETON: Nothing is more intimidating than a blank page. To avoid feeling overwhelmed, we always prepare a ‘narrative skeleton’. The skeleton outlines each section of the narrative and the scoring criteria so you know what to write.

In addition to learning how to write grants, it is an invaluable skill to know how to focus on the RIGHT grants in the first place! We recommend starting with Instrumentl, an outstanding online grant database. Their database should yield 100+ grants. Anything over 150 is too many to process, so you will filter your search if this happens to you. (An awesome problem to have right?!)
