So the Westerlands has a far more centralised system under House Lannister than many of the other kingdoms.

Love the line "But Lann must have been clever enough to not rely solely on his wits *Afterall, where is House Casterly?*"

Somewhere else the theory is brought up that Lann partially took over by getting together with one of the casterly girls or sth. Maybe. But that still wouldn't explain what happened with the rest of the bloodline.
Would have surely been a pity if they all... died out.
