It is an ancient Hebrew apocalyptic text that tells the extra lore of demons and the Nephilim. This is why we get people that don't believe in anything that is weird, because this book is very supernatural and fragile human beings have been programmed to not believe this sort of thing. I do believe that this is true.

Noah lived for 900+ years, I find it hard to believe that Noah wouldn't take every single scroll and writing about before the flood with him on the ark. His memory had to be phenomenal 3500 years ago, he could have remembered the entire book of Enoch and many more, or at the very least written it down and passed it on to his sons and grandchildren. It's hard to tell how many pieces of biblical history have been lost over the years, especially during the persecution of Christians. The apostles had amazing memories, so 1500 years before, they were even more pure, smarter, lived much longer. I think there was even a book of Mary that was destroyed sometime before the Bible was structured. Well, at least we'll have tons of surprises when we get to heaven. I never heard anything in my entire life but the King James version, but after listening to several versions about the book of Enoch, I can see why it was kept out. Just like the Catholics kept the reading of scripture solely in the hands of the priest. Knowledge is power, and this book of Enoch represents a great deal of power, it tells the why to the flood instead of the vagueness that is in the book of Genesis . The book supplies you with names, and what happen in detail to the Angels who had fallen. This story needs to be told more widely and not left in a closet or a corner . There are mentions of Enoch in the new testament 3 times , so we know he actually existed and like only 2 people he was Took and that suggest he didn't die but enter heaven alive just like Elijah.
