Welcome to another FlightDeck2Sim Tutorial, how to Takeoff safely in the 737!

Join me in Tenerife (GCTS) at the holding point for RWY 08 before we fly the ARACO 4E departure following real world procedures. This tutorial contains detailed explanation of PF/PM responsibilities during departure, configuration changes and speeds to be flown on a typical SID. Any questions feel free to comment!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

All guidance in my tutorials are based on operating procedures from a UK operator, I have almost 4000 hours on the 737-800 (The real one) and I'm also a full-time TRI working in a full motion Level D simulator.

I plan to make many more videos in the future so if you'd like me to recreate or explain any procedure please feel free to contact me or leave a comment on my channel.

The aim of this channel is to provide realistic, informative and useful information to help you enhance your flight simulation experience by following me apply real world operating procedures in the PMDG NGX.

Be sure to Like, Comment, and Subscribe and Thanks for watching!

I can't believe how many little mistakes I do....
I keep coming back to your videos to refresh, and try to get rid of old and bad habits. Those videos should be part of PMDG documentation...

Absolutely incredible!! Just got into fsx and I am blown away by it. Being a real world pilot is so amazing, so much respect for you and your colleagues. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us 😃 Happy New Year 😀

Thanks for the great videos! This channel is just what I needed - I am able to get the plane in the air and do most things calmly and safely, but knowing the real world procedures adds a lot more realism. One question though - at what point do you turn the starter switches back from continuous to off (assuming no icing conditions)?

I'm a captain with a major European airline. I'm actually quite amazed that you use the autopilot so early. I don't use it before 10, 000ft and sometimes 15, 000ft depending on conditions. Automation is killing pilots skills and to use it so early in a flight is such a shame. But some airlines have such procedures. But you certainly know your procedures.

This helped me a lot. Thank you. I am starting to use FS Captain. And if you have used the program you will know procedure needs to be followed. I wanted to make sure i got *everything* right. So my passengers have a smooth flight. Takeoff has always been something i have been vague about. Until now, of course. Seriously, thank you :)
Edit: Come to think of it, they say landing is the hardest part, but thats the bit i have never been all that vague about. Odd. (Just thought i would share that thought with you)

flightdeck2 sim How did you successfully get this PMDG 737 program to work? I downloaded it to my computer and all I have is a dead airplane. No switches, no working panels. I have windows 10 and FSX SE. Just bought a VERY fast computer and it doesn't work! Any advice you can give me?

Terrific information Captain, thanks so much for your time and effort producing this video. One question from new simmer: if I select TOGA in the sim, since I don’t actually have an auto throttle mechanism, do I manually set my sim throttles as well as pushing TOGA? And isn’t there an auto N1 reduction at a certain altitude; if so do I need to manually set my sim throttles to match setting in the program? Kind of confusing to a newbie. Again outstanding video, thanks again.
