Thank you for your kind advice. Allow me to say that I slightly adapted your method and it worked like a charm. Instead of using an iron I used a metal jug with boiling water which I placed a top a paper napkin atop the tablecloth, directly over the wax. Half an hour later I removed the jug, which had grown cold, and the wax had transferred to the paper napkin which had absorbed it..

This literally ruined my tablecloth!The heat from the iron made a permanent stain of the wax onto my tablecloth that will not come out. I followed the directions precisely. Thank you for ruining my table cloth forever!!!!

It's easier to peel dry wax without freezing. Wax paper will add more wax to your table cloth if you add heat to wax paper. Paper towels absorb the wax.

@Sarah James: 💯%! Paper towels work as well as paper bags. I've used a brown paper grocery store bag with great success. Just to be safe, make sure the side that is next to your cloth is unprinted.
