How to remove a splinter

Everyone has been there. No sooner did you or your child touch that old wooden bench when a small sliver of wood slides into the skin – causing a surprising amount of pain. Fortunately, splinters are easy to remove with the proper tools and technique.

I don't think I've ever once had a splinter that was literally sticking out to a point where I could just yank it out with tweezers. Every splinter I've had was embedded in the skin and required to needle to remove it.

I work on a CNC machine and cuts, stabs or big splinters are fine, what bugs me is the tinny microscopic one you can barely see but still feel it

Hey there, for everyone scared to get rid of their splinter, listen to this story of mine.

I had a splinter on my foot, it was really deep in and hurt whenever i stepped on it. It was so deep in the skin was completely covered it, under atleast 3 layers of skin. I asked my grandpa to get rid of it for me and he said he would have to cut it with a needle, I was too scared so I declined. I decided to grab a needle and try digging into it to open the skin. My heart was beating really fast and I was scared, but when I finally put it in, I realised it wasnt that painful! I actually had fun and it was interesting to try dig in and get rid of the splinter. After about an hour of me digging with the needle the splinter was entirely gone!

Just got a tiny splinter out which was under my finger after doing a sanding job on some door frames. The safety pin tip did the job perfectly. Thanks and will certainly wear gloves in future.

I had a splinter that got shoved down into the tip of my finger and that sucker was buried deep. I thought I got it out but it was just a piece of the end. Lo' and behold a year later when my body started ejecting this long piece of wood from out of the end of my finger. I got some rubbing alcohol and a needle and tweezers and dug down into that bad boy and then pulled out this one inch piece of wood from my finger.

The feeling felt amazing as it was coming out. The wound healed completely and I can't even see any scarring.

Amazing how that sucker was in the end of my finger for so long and then one day my body decided it was time to eject it.

I knew these methods were what I knew I needed to do, but the video gave me a clear what to do to finish with the tweezers. I had a mini scalpel that had a pinpoint curve that worked a treat. Tweezers hooked that thing straight out. So you deserve a like from me. 👍
