As an American, I've always said 3.5mm, it's only recently that I heard someone say 1/8"

Never mind I’ll just buy new headphones.

The wire frayed very close to the end of the 3.5 mm jack, and was seeing how to quickly replace this to save money for the week. Unfortunately purchasing a replacement jack online is just as much as a replacement online earbud for me. I guess audio one ear it is for now. But very useful for someone with more expensive gear. I just wish specialty electronic stores still exist. They seemed to have disappeared on my side of the world.

I have a box of super slim jacks with pin vise butt that holds the cable. They're the best plug I ever used but I can't find them anymore.

Got a bent jack which makes only a single channel work occasionally (I can get both channels by twisting it or pushing it in). By the way, if my cable has the other side soldered to the headphones, How can I check which cable is which?

Does this also apply the same for 4/8/16 braided cable? Since It have individual strand each section

What if you don't have a jack that can unscrew like that to expose the connection coils? Ripping it open okay?

This wires is very easy to solder on 3.5mm jack. But other type of thin insulated wires are hard to solder. You need microscope.
