In case anyone wondered, the big one is the ground and for the brown cable(there could be 2 brown cables for mic ones), where do i connect the red, blue and green ones?, well there are 3 smaller pins, left one for blue, middle one for green (microphone) and right one for the red cable.

A lighter solves the nylon and enamel issue. Then some solor coded enamel paint as a fist stage insulator. And then one heat shrink tube. For the strain relief I leave a little loop in the wires and a spring from a clicky pen with about 1/4-1/8 inch under the shrink tube. Gives the wire some flexible structure right at the plug.

Not a very good video. Too blurry and not enough informative repair seen. Lots of rustling around and movements to confuse the viewer. Speak slower, keep the camera still and focus on the repair, not the knowledge which is never understood by the viewer. Sorry, but it's true. Actually, the video did NOT show the soldering job, not what wires need to go where including the ground wire. Not helpful if all is omitted. Making a video means instruction, not just happy or unhappy with job. Sorry.

I don't have experience soldering. What kind should I use? the type that comes with sticks of extra metal? or do I just use the heating element to melt the wire to the connections?

I have been googling for 3 days now untill my eyes turned square. I thought lets find somebody online and ask. Can I use a 4 pole connector extention cable for a 3 pole device like my phone and headset with build in mic? I am looking for a 3 pole 3.5mm jack extention 5 M but they dont seem to exsist :/
