Tree-fern Panel Project Part 2

Hello and welcome to Cloudforest Vibes! Today's video is part 2 of my Tree-fern panel project. I still think this stuff has great potential even though I am still suffering from some slight mold issues with it in my environment. Last round, we treated these panels with Physan 20 in order to see if that will prevent the mold issues. It worked to a degree but not to my liking, so this round we are pulling out the "big guns". Get ready for round 2 and to see how the next treatment fairs with the Tree-fern panels. As always, thanks for watching! Please continue to stay safe and happy growing!

That’s the same brand I have purchased as well, but have yet to open the package. Looks like I have some work ahead of me before I use it.. Thanks for the video!

Dang I was just about to try out some tree fern, but so happy I came across this first... I already get mold issues with plants in my apt, after seeing this and reading the comments there's no way I should bother with trying tree fern... and all this repeated soaking with physan and bleach. Such a bummer, seems like a dream material in the right environment. Loved the comment I saw about injecting moss spores... I'll be on the lookout for that video :)

Tree fern works great here for mounts, and I never have issues with mold or fungus. But then I treat often for fungus, Brassavola love tree fern!

Hi, great video! I also got some mold issues and I will have to treat the panels too and my question here is: how many time’s did you let the tree fern panels soak in the BLEACH (+water)? And maybe let is soak for a whole night? Thanks a lot!

ick, all that dirt in the containers. I hate that about it. Blows my mind that there could be any mold after the bleach soak, that is a stronger concentration than is in Tilex and that makes my grout sparkle like new.

I never had to do that but I use tree fern outdoors only and the airflow prevents fungus/mold...I only get moss. I hope it works for you 🤞🍀

In freshwater aquariums sodium thiosulfate is used to neutralize chlorine bleach.

LORD have mercy! 🤣 I will be curious if clorox helped prevent mold for you. It didn't for me. Of course I didn't go to the lengths you did with it. I use Aquarium fish drops to neutralize bleach. But not alot of people have that on hand. Very interesting. Thanks for taking the time to experiment. 😁

I got a red fungus on mine. I got rid of it. I am interested to see how it does. 😊👍

I'm afraid this stuff will grow mushrooms in a day. I once tried fern root (looks about the same) and that didn't work. A cone dog ? Beldar or Connie 😉

chlorine in bleach as one of the natural elements is great for killing microorganisms as they can't get resistant to it. same goes for H2O2. what about soaking fern boards and other stuff in H2O2 instead of bleach? one doesn't need to rins H2O2 off as it breaks down fast to H2O and O2 if exposed to daylight. also there are some products for Aquatic hobby that are used to neutralise chlorine in tap water. could use them instead of H2O2 to neutralise bleach residue.
