In our opinion Get Ups are one of the best sequence of movements in the game.

It teaches you body awareness/positioning (proprioception), improves the strength of your shoulders, hips, and core, and can serve to mobilize everything from your big toe up to your shoulders.

With that being said it is a detailed movement that requires thoughtful execution to get the most out of it.

Here we show a brief demonstration of the 6 steps of the Get Up.

Take your time, own each position, and learn from the transitions.

No matter how many vids I watch, I can’t understand how to roll up onto my elbow even just using my body weight. I’m trying to do it slow and controlled, but just keep getting stuck at that point. Am I supposed to be using momentum? I honestly have no idea what to do, and I’m not some old out of shape person. I just can’t figure it out.
