As the AI race heats up between Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and Open AI, it seems like Apple is severely lagging behind the competition. Despite taking the world by storm in 2011, Siri has been passed in skills and smarts time and time again and is now not nearly as competitive as it needs to be in 2023. Let's talk about how Apple can save both Siri and the iPhone 15 with some major upgrades to Siri and the substantial investments they are making in order to win the AI race.

Apple did the same with HomeKit. They showed all the their great home automation plans and then went silent as their competitors followed through and produced products that did what Apple said their's would do....

Siri is good enough. It does what I ask and I don't really need more.

If apple doesn't adapt and keep innovating they are going to go the same way Xerox went. They had a ton of great advancements but stuck to printers and eventually they fell off. Apple wants to focus on smartphones but the industry is moving too fast and Apple doesn't want to move with it because they are happy with their successful product.

FYI — Back in the early 1990s Apple was already dabbling in making Speech Recognition available to consumers. I had a Quadra 900 (circa 1991) that accepted a limited set of Voice Commands. It also had a rudimentary speech to text feature.

The reason I switched to an iPhone was for the priority they place on privacy, I can deal with having to type in my own search questions.

On the flip side, what if Apple was waiting on this exact moment where every tech company released their latest and greatest AI Tech, just to Launch a newer/more powerful version of Siri? 🤔

Apple used to be first to the game, now they’re being the last to put out…If there’s no update to Siri, especially with what’s going on with ChatGPT, it’s gonna be tough for Apple to keep up.

In my latest video I showed how I replaced Siri with ChatGPT. Siri is only good for built in iOS functions at this time.

Honestly i dont know much people who realy use virtual assistant on daily basis, its more of "look what we can do" than a useful feature

The only time I really use Siri is to turn on or off my apple TV that's paired with a set of HomePod Minis or to raise/lower volume. I also use it to pause the ATV. Other than that, Siri is just underwhelming to the point where I just don't use it. I also, at the same time, don't really feel the need to either. Just for some context, I have a couple of Echo Dots and barely use Alexa in a much more extensive fashion. I think setting the alarm as well as triggering sleep sounds. the Echo Dots have one feature that the HomePod minis don't have, which is why I still use them in the bedroom: They have a clock on them. Circling back to Siri, it's just not really something that I necessarily care about all that much.

Definitely agree that Siri is a problem for the advancedment in Apple, but they also, like the vid said, are working on other things. I don’t think that they shouldn’t work on this area of their company, Siri definitely does need some work, but they have other things that they are working on, like there new vr headset and Apple car, which are probably, in their minds, far more important than ai.

Do you have any idea how to disable scroll-to-top of app when your finger barely touches iPhone menu or edge of screen?
Adjusting sensitivity of touch etc does not work

The problem with Apple is in fact Tim Cook.
Apple has far beyond all the necessary resources to be the leader on each market segment, but Tim Cook main concern is just to find how to charge faithful customers as much as possible, while giving as little as possible in return.
Last example, the new HomePod. More expensive than the previous one while not being better (may be even worse…).

I was considering switching to an Android or Google phone because it its more intelligence AI and better software features. However, if AI does improve in the near future, I might stick with Apple. I still got my iPhone 8 Plus so I am not switching out until I find out what's in store for 2023.

Besides the lack of power in Siri, the Low End 15 might also flop if it only supports downloads to storage or computers at USB 2 speeds. USB 2 has always been painfully slow.
