I mean, the way you pronounced the r in the actual words is nothing like the English r. It is closer to an English soft j... From what I've figured out is that the "correct" pronunciation is the soft j type sound when the r is at the beginning of a word, and the more classic English type r when it is in the middle of a word. But I've also heard other speakers here on YouTube pronounce it with the English r type sound even at the beginning of words, so I'm guessing it just depends on where the speaker is from in China? Some pronounce it with a soft j while others use the more classic r type sound?
